14-Day Panchakarma Transformation
A Deeper Ayurvedic Journey — Guided by Tradition, Personalized by Your Constitution
13 Nights · Private Villa · Doctor-Led Ayurvedic Care · Personalized Panchakarma Program
Some journeys are designed to help you escape.
Others are designed to help you reset the way you live.
The 14-Day Panchakarma Transformation at Praana Ayurvedic Boutique Hotel is an immersive Ayurvedic retreat for guests who want to step away from modern overload and experience a traditional, personalized approach to wellness in a private Sri Lankan setting.
Your journey begins with an in-depth consultation with our Ayurveda doctor, including assessment of your Prakriti and current state of balance (Vikriti). From there, your program is individually designed around your constitution, wellness priorities, treatment suitability, diet, daily rhythm, and response throughout the retreat.
This is not a collection of spa treatments.
It is a structured Ayurvedic journey of preparation, therapeutic care, rest, nourishment, and integration.
What Is Panchakarma?
One of Ayurveda's Most Traditional Therapeutic Frameworks
In classical Ayurveda, Panchakarma refers to a group of therapeutic purification procedures traditionally used within a broader treatment process.
The word Pancha means five, while Karma refers to therapeutic actions or procedures.
Traditionally, the five principal procedures are associated with:
Vamana — therapeutic emesis
Virechana — therapeutic purgation
Basti — medicated enema therapies
Nasya — administration of medicine through the nasal route
Raktamokshana — bloodletting
However, these procedures are not automatically performed on every guest.
A genuine Panchakarma program requires professional assessment to determine whether any particular procedure is appropriate. The preparatory and supportive stages—including oil therapies, fomentation, diet, rest, and other treatments—can form an important part of an individualized Ayurvedic program.
At Praana, the focus is therefore not on performing five procedures simply because the retreat is called Panchakarma.
The focus is on appropriate, personalized Ayurvedic care under professional supervision.
Why 14 Days?
Enough Time to Move Beyond a Weekend Spa Experience
A short wellness stay can provide relaxation.
A 14-day program creates substantially more time for:
Assessment → Preparation → Therapeutic Care → Observation → Adjustment → Rejuvenation → Integration
Traditional Ayurvedic therapeutic programs can involve distinct preparatory, main-treatment, and post-treatment stages. WHO's Ayurveda practice benchmarks also emphasize individualized assessment—including constitution, strength, age, digestion, diet, and disease stage—before determining medicines or therapies.
That is why we do not present the 14 days as a guaranteed "cellular detox."
Instead, we create something more credible and deeply personal:
Fourteen days in which your Ayurvedic program has time to evolve with you.
Your Private Ayurvedic Sanctuary
13 Nights in a Private Villa
Your villa is more than accommodation.
It is the quiet space between treatments.
A place to rest after your consultation.
A private environment for reflection.
A sanctuary where you can read, sleep, meditate, or simply listen to the sounds of Sri Lanka.
There is no need to rush from one experience to another.
Your retreat follows your rhythm.
Private Villa · Personal Space · Complete Privacy
Why European Ayurveda Seekers Choose Praana
Authenticity Without Losing Comfort
For guests travelling from Germany, Switzerland, Austria, the UK, Scandinavia, and Western Europe, choosing an Ayurvedic retreat is about more than beautiful photographs.
You want to know:
Who is assessing me?
Why has this treatment been selected?
What am I actually receiving?
Are the medicines appropriate?
Is the program personalized?
What happens if my condition changes?
At Praana, these questions are part of the experience.
Doctor-Led Personalization
Your program begins with an Ayurveda doctor consultation rather than a predetermined treatment menu.
Your practitioner considers your individual constitution, current condition, strength, digestion, lifestyle, diet, age, and other relevant factors when determining an appropriate approach. These are among the assessment factors described in WHO's Ayurveda practice benchmarks.
Ongoing Reviews
Your care does not stop after Day 1.
Regular consultations and progress reviews allow the practitioner to assess how you are responding and modify the program where appropriate.
Your treatment plan remains responsive.
Carefully Selected Herbal Preparations
Herbal medicines are used only where appropriate and under practitioner guidance.
This is particularly important because "natural" does not automatically mean safe. Herbal preparations can interact with medications, and improperly manufactured or contaminated Ayurvedic products can pose health risks.
Quality, suitability and responsible prescribing matter.
The Four Pillars of Your Transformation
01 — Authentic Panchakarma & Clinical Care
Comprehensive Initial Ayurveda Consultation
Your retreat begins with an extended consultation designed to understand you as an individual.
The consultation may explore:
Prakriti
Vikriti
Digestion
Sleep
Lifestyle
Stress
Diet
Energy levels
Relevant health history
Current medications
Wellness priorities
Where appropriate, traditional Ayurvedic diagnostic approaches such as pulse assessment (Nadi Pariksha) may form part of the consultation.
The result is not simply a diagnosis.
It is the foundation for your personalized program.
Personalized Panchakarma Plan
Your Program Is Designed Around You
Following your consultation, your practitioner establishes an appropriate treatment pathway.
Depending on your individual assessment, this may incorporate:
Poorva Karma
Preparatory therapies designed to prepare the body for the main therapeutic phase.
Pradhana Karma
The principal therapeutic procedures selected where clinically appropriate.
Paschat Karma
Post-treatment care, dietary guidance, rest, and gradual return to normal routines.
Not every guest will require or be suitable for every Panchakarma procedure.
Authentic Ayurveda is personalized—not standardized.
Daily Tailored Ayurvedic Treatments
Your daily treatment schedule may include therapies such as:
Abhyanga
Shirodhara
Swedana / Herbal Steam
Pinda Sweda
Udwarthana
Head Massage
Foot Massage
Neck & Shoulder Massage
Back & Spine Massage
Herbal Body Wrap
Herbal Facial
Herbal Bath
Other therapies selected by your practitioner
Some treatments are preparatory or supportive rather than being Panchakarma procedures themselves.
Ongoing Doctor Consultations
Your Program Is Observed, Not Assumed
Throughout your stay, regular doctor reviews provide opportunities to assess your progress and adjust the program when necessary.
This is especially important during a structured therapeutic retreat.
We listen. We observe. We adapt.
Customized Herbal Medicines
Where prescribed, herbal preparations are selected according to your individual program.
Your practitioner determines:
Whether herbal medicine is appropriate
Which preparation is suitable
Appropriate dosage
Timing
Duration
Whether adjustments are required
Guests should provide complete information about prescription medicines, supplements, allergies, pregnancy status, and relevant medical conditions before treatment.
Final Wellness Review
Your Retreat Should Continue Beyond the Villa
Before departure, your doctor conducts a closing wellness review.
Together, you can reflect on:
Your retreat experience
Your response to treatment
Dietary habits
Daily routines
Sleep
Stress management
Appropriate movement
Ayurvedic lifestyle principles
You leave with a personalized Post-Retreat Lifestyle Blueprint designed to help you continue appropriate habits at home.
Your retreat ends.
Your awareness continues.

What Makes Authentic Panchakarma Different?
It Is Not a Spa Package
A spa package gives you a list of treatments.
Panchakarma is traditionally understood as part of a broader therapeutic process involving assessment, preparation, selected interventions, and post-treatment care.
Spa tourism asks:
"What treatment would you like?"
A personalized Ayurvedic program asks:
"What is appropriate for you?"
That distinction is at the heart of this retreat.
What We Will Never Promise
Authenticity Requires Honesty
We will not promise:
Guaranteed "cellular detoxification"
Permanent cures
Guaranteed weight loss
Guaranteed hormone balancing
Guaranteed reversal of disease
Instant elimination of chronic conditions
That every guest needs all five Panchakarma procedures
Scientific evidence for Ayurveda remains limited for many conditions, and reputable health guidance advises against using Ayurvedic treatment as a substitute for appropriate conventional medical care.
Our promise is simpler:
Personal attention. Traditional knowledge. Responsible practice. Genuine hospitality.
Safety & Medical Transparency
Your Well-Being Comes First
Panchakarma procedures and herbal medicines are not appropriate for everyone.
Your practitioner should assess relevant factors before treatment, including medical history, medications, allergies, pregnancy status, physical strength, digestion, and other individual considerations.
WHO's Ayurveda benchmarks emphasize individualized assessment and quality and safety considerations in Ayurvedic practice.
Some Ayurvedic products may contain metals or other substances that can be harmful if improperly prepared or contaminated, and herbal products may interact with conventional medicines.
Therefore:
Please provide complete and accurate health information before arrival.
Guests should not stop prescribed medication or delay conventional medical care because of this retreat.
